Footsteps Worth Following

Hebrews 11 is more than a list. It is a road map. Walk it slowly. Their God is your God.

A Genesis 12 – 25

Abraham

The Father of Those Who Believe

What They Faced

Asked to leave home for an unknown land. Asked to wait 25 years for a promised son. Asked to offer that same son back to God.

What They Did

Obeyed before he understood. Believed God could raise the dead even when the knife was raised.

The Lesson

Faith starts with the first step out of comfort. The promise is found on the road, not in the chair.

The Lesson

God uses the broken man, not the polished one. The desert was not waste but was preparation.

D 1 Samuel 16 – 1 Kings 2

David

The Shepherd-King

What They Faced

A virgin pregnancy and the shame attached. Watching her sinless Son crucified.

What They Did

The Lesson

Surrender does not always make sense. Yes to God always costs, and is always worth it.

Luke 1:38
P Acts 9 – 2 Timothy

Paul

The Last to Believe, The First to Run

What They Faced

A past as a persecutor. Beatings, shipwrecks, prisons, a thorn that never left.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
